These handcast paper wall pieces are made
of 85% Abaca paper. Forms are placed in the piece when they
are cast to create openings for layers of patinaed and heated
metal. Each piece is gessoed and then covered with joint compound
or cement to create a textured surface, some are copper leafed
and then all are painted with acrylic paint. Inlays of copper
pieces are placed in the surface during joint compounding
or cedar willow sticks are added at the end. These pieces
are contemporary abstract designs and they do not need to
be framed.
